BAYELSA EAST STUDENTS TOTALLY REJECTS SENATOR BEN MURRAY-BRUCE SECOND TENURE BID.

The President National Union Of Ogbia Student cum Secretary General Bayelsa East Students Comr Damini Noel Patrick express displeasure and dissatisfaction over the second term bid of Sen Ben Murray Bruce as against the zoning agreement in the district and as well notifying that he shouldn't not try to breach the zoning formula agreed by great political leaders between the three LGA's that make up the Constituency which includes Ogbia, Nembe and Brass LGA,with his personal interest. he expresses the is on his Facebook timeline by clearly stating the according to the zoning formula it is the time of Nembe LGA to occupy the Senatorial seat.

Below is his write up on Facebook

Please permit me to register on facebook the headache I felt, when I received the news to the effect that Senator Ben Murray Bruce is currently nursing an ambition of re-contesting for the highly esteemed office of the Bayelsa East senatorial district (Ogbia, Nembe and Brass)

In the district a zoning formula was established by our Father, leader and hero, Late. Chief. Senator Melford Obiene Okilo, in a bid to maintain peace, unity and oneness amongst the three LGA's in the Senatorial district. Late Chief. Senator Melford Obiene Okilo being an Ogbia man and a man of his words, served from May29 1999 - May29 2003 as the very first senator in the region. Senator. Spiff Inatim Rufus(Brass) took over from May29 2003 - May29 2007. Senator Nimi Barigha Amange (Nembe) took over from May29 2007 - May29 2011. Senator Clever Marcus Ikisikpo (Ogbia) took over from May29 2011 - May29 2015. Senator Ben Murray Bruce (Brass) took over from May29 2015 till date.

Please let's call a spade by no other name because it is now obvious and crystal clear that Senator Ben Murray Bruce is a selfish and egoistic politician, who doesn't have the interest of developing or investing on the people on the people he represents but his only interest is to work and invest more on his prestigious and almighty Silverbird company, as such the Bayelsa East students Union in all totality rejects and condemn his aspirations and ambition to re contest. As a union it is our sole responsibility to commend what is right, condemn what is wrong and recommend what is desirable. Hence the students of Bayelsa East, amicably and unanimously agreed that, Ben Murray Bruce should go back to the studio after 2019 or contest for any other position, and allow only aspirants from Nembe LGA to test their popularity in the senatorial elections come 2019, else we will go on air to condemn his candidature. Thanks.

I REMAIN, COMR. DAMINI NOEL PATRICK.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Buhari to ask the EFCC unfreeze the bank accounts of the Adeleke's family.

Opposition's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the bank accounts of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the governorship candidate of the party in the coming Osun state election has been frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The PDP also alleged that Adeleke's family bank accounts were also frozen by the anti graft agency, including that of celebrity singer, Davido.
Consequently, the party, in a statement signed by national publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the EFCC to immediately unfreeze the private bank accounts.
The statement read in full:
"The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately unfreeze the private account of the PDP governorship Candidate in the September 22, 2018 Osun election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and those of his family members, including music star, David Adeleke (Davido).
"The party decries the freezing of the accounts as oppressive, tyrannical, provocative and a direct recipe for crisis in the state, given that the people of Osun are solidly behind Adeleke ahead of the election.
"In addition, the PDP directs its members, including state governors, officials at zonal and state chapters, national and states assembly members, all presidential and governorship aspirants as well as other stakeholders, particularly, in the southwest zone, to immediately commence movement into Osun state with their political machinery to campaign and support the PDP candidate.
"The party, however, said the freezing of the Adelekes' accounts by an agency of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government, a week to the governorship election, underscores the fact that APC is mortally afraid of our candidate and has been seeking ways to undermine his electoral fortunes.
"Such savage attack on innocent citizens confirms the viciousness of the Buhari-led APC administration to use any means whatsoever to subjugate Nigerians and appropriate power to itself at all cost.
"Does it not smack of political brutality that President Buhari approved the secret release of N16.6 billion to Osun APC to pay thugs to manhandle voters and rig the election, while his EFCC is unleashed to freeze the legitimate account of our candidate and his family not minding the collateral damage such would have on millions that benefit from the goodwill of the family?
"What President Buhari and his APC do not understand is that theirs is a den of thieves and that the leaders of the APC are frittering the N16 billion away.
"Moreover, the people of Osun state are completely behind Senator Adeleke and will freely vote for him irrespective of the machinations of the Buhari-led APC.
"The PDP therefore calls on the people of Osun state to collectively condemn this wickedness meted out on their son and members of his family and ensure that they use their votes to make a resounding statement against the APC by voting enmasse for their beloved son, come September 22, 2018. Enough is enough!"

BAYELSA STUDENTS POUR ENCOMIUMS ON LAWMAKER

Bayelsa State students under the aegis of the Coalition of Concerned Students of Bayelsa State, have expressed disappointment over the purported protest by some disgruntled youth and student leaders for the arrest of Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, the member representing Brass Constituency 1 in the state assembly.

According to the coalition, the alleged protest is aimed at smearing the good image of the student-friendly lawmaker who has done nothing wrong, save for paying tuition fees and bursary to over two hundred students

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Comr. Samuel Rinah Tari pointed out that Sunny-Goli has always been promoting and supporting the course of students in the state without discrimination, therefore he deserves the commendation of all well-meaning Bayelsans in order for him to do more.

"No student with a right sense of reasoning will ever think of supporting a government that has denied students of their rights, privileges and benefits," he said.

In their separate responses Comr. Lucky Appolos and Comr. Amiekumo Tarilayefa stressed that Sunny-Goli is a blessing to the student community in the state, thus deserves not only commendation but awards from various students and youth groups.

They further dissociated themselves from the alleged protest to be made against Sunny-Goli, while advising students and youth leaders in the state not to allow politicians to used them as tools for their selfish ends.
